School of Film
School of Film was established in January 2010. It is the first teaching and research place in Changchun to resume and cultivate excellent film art talents after the establishment of Changchun Film Academy in 1960. With an investment of 300 million RMB, the School has a film industry training base of over 50,000 square meters. It has more than 30 leading national laboratories, including the Da Vinci Color Correction Management Laboratory, XR Virtual and Reality Studio, and 5.1 Digital Mixing Laboratory.
The School adheres to the multidimensional educational philosophy of “Project-Driven Teaching” and has successively established producing and training bases with some well-known domestic film and television institutions and media, providing students with more opportunities to participate in various scientific research and producing projects during their school years. At the same time, CGU has established Changchun Guanghua Film Studio and Changchun Guanghua Art Theater, providing technical support for strengthening the integration of industry and education to facilitate collaborative talent cultivation. It also provides the talent reserve for Jilin Province’s film industry, which serves the Jilin Province’s film industry as well as its relative industry chains.
The School currently has over 1,200 full-time undergraduate students and more than 60 teachers. The faculty is well-structured and includes experts from industries as well as numerous teachers with “Dual-qualification in Teaching and Professional Skills”. Thus, they form a group of professional teachers who emphasize teaching, practice and scientific research.

Stage Play “The Dazzling Arc”
On the basis of five undergraduate majors, namely, Film and Television Photography and Production, Radio and Television Directing, Broadcasting and Hosting Art, Performance as well as Literature of Theatre, Film and Television, it has then added new directions in Film Directing, Film Special Effects, Film Sound, Digital Music Production and Film Art. Over the years, the School’s faculty and students have produced numerous stage plays, films, and other film and television works, winning more than 200 awards in various major exhibitions and competitions at home and abroad.
