Traversing Mountains and Seas, Building Friendship Together —— The Delegation from Chugye University for the Arts Visits CGU

From May 11 to 12, 2026, the delegation from Chugye University for the Arts, including Professor Chen Guiyu, Dean of the School of International Exchange; Professor An Changxuan, Director of the Institute of Global Culture and Arts; Dr. Zhang Tingting, Director of the International Cooperation Center; and Mr. Chen Beibei, Head of the Public Relations Department of the International Cooperation Center, visited CGU for academic exchange. The two universities engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation in art education,teacher and student exchanges and joint talent cultivation. The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and implemented a series of cultural experience activities and academic exchanges in art-related disciplines.

At 9:00 on May 11, the business meeting between the two institutions was held in the First Conference Room of the Administrative Building, chaired by Professor Wu Ying, Dean of the School of International Exchange. On behalf of CGU, Dean Wu Ying extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced CGU’s history, disciplinary characteristics and the construction of its art-related majors. She noted that the two universities share similar educational philosophies and complementary disciplinary orientations, expressing hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to establish a long-term, stable, practical and mutually beneficial cooperative relations.

Dean Chen Guiyu delivered remarks on behalf of Chugye University for the Arts, expressing gratitude for the invitation and reception of CGU. She highly praised the achievements of CGU in the development of art-related academic clusters and the cultivation of application-oriented artistic talents. She also expressed confidence in future cooperation between the two institutions in areas such as academic exchange, teacher and student mobility, as well as artistic performances and exhibitions.

Witnessed by delegates present, Dean Wu Ying and Dean Chen Guiyu signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective universities and exchanged commemorative gifts, marking the formal establishment of the cooperative partnership between the two universities.

Following the business meeting, the delegation visited the campus accompanied by Dean Wu Ying and Dr. Hang XU. At the Museum of CGU History, the guests learned about CGU’s development history and achievements in teaching, scientific research and international exchange through archival materials and exhibits. At the Library of Modern Science and Technology, the guests experienced CGU’s smart AI-guided services and self-service borrowing facilities, having a knowledge of the development of CGU’s smart campus initiatives.

At the One-Stop Student Community Activity Center, the delegation conducted an on-site visit to learn about the constructionof students’ “second classroom”, including the layout and management of community spaces as well as the operation of student clubs and activities. The guests also took group photos in front of the campus cultural wall. Afterwards, they visited CGU’s cultural and creative souvenir store, where they purchased culturally designed products.

At the Ethnic Art Museum of the Songhua River Basin, the guests explored the folk cultures of ethnic minorities in Northeast China and participated in interactive cultural activities such as paper-cutting and “Galaha-playing” (the folk game). They also enjoyed a live performance of the Manchu folk song “Erchun” by Zhao Chi, a teacher at CGU.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the School of Film for exchange. Accompanied by Associate Deans Feng Yueping and Zhang Tong, the guests toured the Art Theater on East Campus, the Museum of CGU Art, and several professional teaching and training facilities, learning about CGU’s educational infrastructure and creative achievements in film, television and digital arts.

Subsequently, representatives from the School of Art and Design, School of Film, School of Education and the Manchu Art Research Institute held a professional symposium with the Korean delegation. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on joint talent cultivation, teacher and student exchanges, and industry-university-research collaboration, further refining future cooperation plans.

This visit established a platform for mutual communication and learning between the two universities and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in the field of art education. Taking the signing of the MOU as agolden opportunity, CGU will continue to deepen exchange and cooperation with Chugye University for the Arts, promote the implementation of cooperative projects, and enhance the high-quality development of art-related professional education.
