On May 28, Denis Viktorovich, Vice Rector of Irkutsk State University of Russia, and Yulia Alexandrovna, Deputy Dean of Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Mass Communication，led a delegation to visit CGU. Li Xiaoguang, President of CGU，Wu Ying, Dean of School of International Exchange, Dr. Hang XU, Director of Intercultural Communication Research Institute, and relevant school staff accompanied the visitors throughout the tour.
The delegation first visited the CGU History Museum, the Songhua River Basin Ethnic Art Museum and the School of Film. At the History Museum, the guests learned in detail about the CGU’s development history, school-running characteristics and talent cultivation achievements. Both sides held initial exchanges on talent training and distinctive school-running models.
At the Songhua River Basin Ethnic Art Museum, the delegation had an immersive experience of Northeast regional culture and ethnic folk arts. Ms Guan Xingyu, inheritor of the provincial intangible cultural heritage Guan-style Manchu paper-cutting art, presented paper-cutting works as gifts to the Russian guests on behalf of CGU.
Afterwards, the delegation paid an on-site visit to the Changchun Guanghua Art Gallery, the Guanghua Grand Theatre and the School of Film. They inspected the professional teaching venues and practical training facilities, learned about the school-running and practical training conditions of relevant majors. At the end of the tour, they spoke highly of CGU’s complete teaching facilities and excellent school-running conditions.
Following the tour, the two universities held an exchange forum, presided over by Wu Ying. President Li Xiaoguang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced CGU’s basic school-running conditions. He pointed out that CGU attaches great importance to Sino-Russian educational and cultural exchanges. Taking this visit as a starting point and relying on the platform of the Sino-Russian Education Year, CGU hopes to deepen regular exchanges and practical cooperation between the two institutions, and steadily promote youth exchanges, talent training and educational cooperation.Vice Rector Denis Viktorovich expressed gratitude for the warm reception, highly appreciated CGU’s educational strength and characteristics, and expressed the intention to establish an inter-university partnership. He also formally invited CGU’s leaders to pay a return visit to ISU in due course.
During the forum, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on teacher and student exchanges, short-term exchange programs and academic cooperation, reached a number of consensuses, and clarified the direction and implementation plan for cooperation. After the forum, Kang Qipeng, Chairman of CGU, exchanged souvenirs with Vice Rector Denis Viktorovich of ISU.
Coinciding with the launch of the Sino-Russian Education Year, this visit marked the first in-depth exchange between the two universities. It further smoothed the communication channels, consolidated the foundation for cooperation, and created favorable conditions for future exchanges, teacher-student visits and academic cooperation. Meanwhile, it has built a sound platform for CGU to deepen educational and cultural exchanges with Russia and advance internationalized school-running.
